Parting out a 300 Round Nose

I've stolen the things I wanted off of it, Grill/widefront/powersteering. If you need something let me know, its located in East Central Illinois.

Parts that are viable:
Engine was lightly stuck on cylinder 2, its free now after head taken off and a light soak in marvel. Could be cleaned up with a hone.

Exhaust manifold is shot, intake is good. Marvel carb is there, but very rusty.

Gas tank looks ok, could clean up easily.

Rear Fenders are in decent shape where they usually rust out, one does have some rusting around one of the work light holes, but very viable fenders.

Radiator is pretty clean and was full of antifreeze.

The sheet metal is straight, but covered in about 5-6 layers of paint. One of the hinge bars on the center hood piece is broken off, but the center is straight. The front crown piece and grill are missing (I bought it for the grill, sorry).

Also there is a belt pulley drive, there is no pulley on it.

If anyone needs something let me know, I'd rather liberate some parts then all of it land in the scrap pile.

I have a 300 that is a straight 4 speed tractor. Is there a triple range in it that is OK and for
sale?

The tractor was not running when I grabbed it so I don't know the working condition of it, but yes it has a triple range and it's available.

I'm in the market for a set of engine cover panels. They seem to be as scarce as hens teeth, even though every round nose 300 came from the factory with them on. The reproduction ones I saw somewhere were priced the same as a new set of rear tires.

Unfortunately there wasn't a set of those with it, but if there were, I would probably be claiming them for myself as I'm in the same boat as you. I've seen a newer advert on craigslist from a guy that has new mesh screens and the panels, but he doesn't have any prices.

Makes me wonder where all the original engine panels went, and why they were removed in the first place? Was there a problem with the engine over heating with the panels on?

I've heard that they had a tendency to pop off on their own and would get driven/mowed/plowed over or otherwise damaged, might explain where some of them went.

That makes sense.
