580ck torque converter

I am rebuilding a shuttle on a 1977 580ck extendahoe. I am installing a rebuilt torque converter.
The manual says that I need an alignment tool #D51651 to align the torque converter with the flex plate to within 0.004
inch run out on the converter. I have searched online to find this tool to no avail.

Does anyone here on the forum have one I could rent, or could tell me where to buy one, or do I even need one?

I appreciate your help.

Where did you find a re-built Torque Converter? Many years ago, CASE offered re-builts, where you would set your old one on the counter & the parts man gave you a re-built unit. Not in a long time though.

It came from Broken Tractor with the rebuild kit. The manual states that I need a torque converter alignment tool to set the converter on to the flex plate, then attach that assembly and check the run-out on the converter hub with a dial indicator. The run-out is supposed to be less than 0.004". I was hoping to find someone on this site that has done this before that might have some hints or tips.

I have installed and removed this torque converter more than a dozen times, checking the runout, loosen bolts, gently tap in the marked direction and reinstall. The best I get is 0.060" of runout on the converter hub. Should I attempt to enlarge the holes to get better runout, or will the input seal handle this much runout?

OK I have a thought, the front of the converter has a small button that is used for the alignment tool that is not available. The back of the crankshaft has a large hole. I will make a "pilot bearing" of sorts on my friends lathe in order to align the two. Enlarge the flex plate holes to allow alignment.
