So I was able to finish with a finer grit hone, and I'm feeling a lot better about the finished product. No barley pops were harmed in the process .cheers.CM

So, just to gain knowledge. What was the diameter of the sleeve before you honed it and after? I know from your previous post the sleeve was out of "spec". Was it out of round? or diameter too big? Just wondering what could be expected after honing. gobble

Just curious, what did you use to hold the sleeve while honing? Clamping it in a vice sounds like a terrible idea. I think I'd rig something with a couple of large hose clamps. I usually do this with the sleeve permanently installed in an aluminum block, so I just clamp the block to a workbench.

When I received the sleeve from Garry ,he said it was overbore by .002 with vertical scoring, and I held the sleeve horizontal with my left hand firmly on the work bench. I have not measured the sleeve ,as I left my inside and outside mics at work. I will run the sleeve to work today, and measure.CM
