What happened????? Last I knew you were looking for a 4-530. Seams that you are taking a step backwards from your 400. Why would you want to do that??? I thought that you wanted to be able to pass Pastor John on a road trip, rather than nudge him in the butt. HeHe

Chuck if you come to Tilden ne to look at the one Connor listed below you better stop to see me. Hard to believe you would be selling the 400...

Just think of all the Charicature drawings you could draw for Pastor John and I! HEE HEE!

I have a two bay shop, and Pastor John has not commited to a shop for two more years. I will request from the new owner of the 411 first right to repurchase if he decides to sell. I am sure of the direction I am moving so that I may continue to enjoy the hobby of collecting Case tractors. What I really would like to have in my collection is Camboted's modified DC

I have to ask why one would sell a 400 and go back to a dc? Kind of like going from a Lincoln to a Model T. I sold a decent 53 dc3 for $1000 and bought a good 400 gas for $1300 and thought the $300 to boot was a darned good deal.

I can understand desiring a D series with wide front. They were good work horses in their day. Today my work horses have six cylinders and a turbo---Oh yes air conditioned cabs.

BUT-----In recent years, I have found the D series with wide front and big bore Aluminum pistons to be FUN tractors to play with. My two brothers and I would get together to play and plow with no pressure to get a lot done. The intent was to enjoy the moment. It was sad to run out of ground to plow--to run out of fun. The big bore D series pulling 3 bottoms 8 inches deep in 2nd gear rolls along like a leisure Sunday drive and has reserve for a few tough spots.

I view the DC4 as a fun tractor to own. Nice choice for an antique to play with.

The Lincoln is for serious travel. The model T is for fun. A good model T probably cost more than a tired Lincoln. LOL

Good evening Ron. It is as if you pulled those exact thoughts from my mind sir! I often go back to your posts and videos of years past of you plowing near the Spoon River .Those videos are priceless. CM

(quoted from post at 04:38:14 10/10/17) Chuck,Here a fixer upper DC Foot clutch EH for you at a good price! (road trip)
DC

Add says it has a spun rod bearing. DC's have babbit rod bearings. The seller didn't look at crank at all. He just made a guess. I'd stay away from this one.

Chuck,

I totally understand your quest for a late DC. That's the tractor I grew up driving and will always be close to my heart. Probably why I have 6 D Series tractors as well. I hope you find what you're looking for. Don

If anyone wants to see three old guys having FUN with their D series and other Cases, Google UTube Ron Satzler and watch what I posted. The C Case is what the three of us grew up plowing and doing other heavy work with.

(quoted from post at 02:43:59 10/10/17) Let me try this link again. If it doesn't work look on Richmond Craigslist.
Case R Tractors
If I bought a steel wheel tractor, the city would ream me a new one. I enjoyed Widefronts two steel wheelers in the parade. My kidneys are still jostled from the parade! HEE! CM
