Getting ready to put rebuilt head on my rebuilt engine (159 gasser ). I jab used copper coat on other head gaskets, does any one else use it? If so, on both sides ? Thanks Dick

Dick: I never use anything. I have never seen anything recommended by an OEM. However, some guys on here will chime in that they use 1 thing or another.

Head gaskets are designed to go on dry, that is, no sealants. Make sure both surfaces are clean, dry and flat. That is absolutely critical if they are teflon coated or similar, any sealant will cause them to leak.

I concur with Mr.Saeli. I would refer to what the manufacturers recommendations are.
