My front tires are wearing the outside tread off but the inside is still pretty good. Any ideas on what may be causing it?

my first thought would be toed out to much, you should be able to stand in front and see it if it is wearing that bad,the steering ball joints are bad to wear in those, you do a lot of highway driving?

If it's toed out (or in) too much, it'll leave a feather edge on the tread, if the feather points out it's toed in and vice versa. Wear on one edge usually indicates camber problems, but a lot of old tractor trikes are set up with radical camber so it tracks better in a plow furrow. These are likely to wear oddly on pavement.

The front tires on a MFWD turn a little faster than the rear tires so it will turn a corner without fighting itself. Can your FWD be disengaged? Do you always disengage on the road?
