HELP the tractor dies if i step in the clutch or if i shift the power shift to reverse hope some one can help me thanks for looking

stuck spool in the valve on right side of transmission if your lucky that's all it is, keep your fingers crossed

could you tell my post on the 580 case power shuttle problem and hello me out if you can please thanks

The problem sounds like C-3 pilot spool is stuck, but regardless the best thing to do is remove the entire control valve and clean all spools and their bores. After that
job is done make sure new hyd filters are installed and maybe oil if needed. Rod.

thanks Rod I will pull that one out and see if its the problem I have had the tractor for six years and i know the 1st gear on the power shift slips so i get it going and shift into second right away but even now I slow the throttle down and shift up and then down and i can pull tin gear and drive it as long as i just go forward third gear on the power shift labors so i didn't;t run that but i was 6 miles from home when it started the problem and at least i got it home...

Sorry i have never worked on a 580 so can't tell ya about that 4020 i have one of those i have worked on put a motor out of a 7700 JD combine in it more power then has had since i have had it. Threw some magnets in the rear end on it to collect the metal filings in side the filters so one of these days i guess i will have to take apart the brakes on the left side ...

no it isn't that either took out all four spools and the were all nice and shinny put it back together and it still does the e-same thing e en turned the motor over and shot some oil out of the spool holes didn't help but thanks for the thought

If the spools are all free and operating properly you have a problem in the power shift itself. Rod.
