Trying to find correct differential side gear

Here is a photo of my differential side gear. My tractor loader backhoe set up is labelled a W3 yet the tractor itself I'd say is the same as a Case 530. I rebuilt the Case-o-matic by ordering parts for a Case 530. My differential casting number #1096. My neighbor has a Case 310 and has same casting number 1096 and differential case looks exactly the same. Unfortunately my tractors serial number is missing.

My tractor has non-locking differential and both side gears are the same length 7-7/8" long. I have tracked down side gears A144338 yet not certain if they are what I need. Based on the wear marks from the brake discs, a side gear shaft measuring approx 7" may work. Currently I don't know what length a A144338 is. A parts manual I bought off ebay indicates the part number may be G30596 or G13298 depending on tractor serial number. I've even seen the part number G13007 on part diagrams on net.

The groove on the splined shaft appears to not serve a mechanical purpose. I've found out from one source the groove is for identification purposes yet they couldn't tell me what gear it is.

What I am asking here is I've found out A144338 is described as a short shaft for left and right hand sides for non-locking differential for tractor models 530, 580, 580B, 430, 480, 480B. Has anyone here have knowledge of what works before I order from this Seller? Seller is presently researching what I need too.

The A144339 gear will only work with the band over disc breaks. I may have a used gear for the double disc break system. You will have to count the drive teeth and let me know how many teeth you have maybe I can help.

Yes I have the band over disc brakes. 13 teeth where bull gear rides (3" in diameter). 17 teeth on spline. 20 teeth where gear engages pinions. Your response had me look up the brake systems in my parts catalog, and starting at tractor serial number 6165270 (and after), tractors that use the disc-band braking system is what my tractor uses and it specifies the G30596 side gear.

You mean the A144338 will work? The A144339
