DB 1200 Water Pump

I have a David Brown 1200 with a leaking water pump.
When I looked for a replacement on the web by serial number (higher then 700,001) I get K915842 as the replacement for $75. When I look it up by casting number I get K952127 as the replacement for $169, or more. Does anyone know the difference and if they are interchangeable?

Look close at your water pump. Is there a flat plate on the backside or a raised cast piece? Also bolt spacing will tell you the difference. One will have a bolt almost behind the hose outlet.

From your description they are definitely not interchangeable. Mine has the separate flat plate. Will order by the casting number on the old pump. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

My 1200 has the flat plate on the back, and when I needed to replace the water pump (about a year and a half ago), I ordered one off ebay for $89.00. Still working great.

Followed your advice and did some more searching. I have one on order now at a much better price. Will update when it is installed. Thanks

eceived and installed the new water pump, no problems. My casting number was C915326. Most of the water pumps I found online were for the K915326 casting. Looked like the same pump, and the spacing was the same, so I ordered it. Appears to be the same as original except without the grease fitting, and works well.

have only had the tractor for about a year, and didn't know it had a grease fitting on the pump. Found an Instruction Book on the web, and it says to use a high melting point grease. I would have used lithium grease if I had know about the fitting. Someone else that is more of an expert may have a better answer.
