995 DB Case 3 point quit lifting

I was mowing yesterday and it would lift, and suddenly it wouldn't. Pulling the control lever all the way to the rear doesn't put extra/audible load on the engine like normal. Loader and external hook up still have pressure/ function. I have an I&T manual for it, and started going through troubleshooting last night. I pulled one of the two valves out under the kidney shaped plate behind the 3 put control lever, the one with the nylon screen, and it looked alright. I couldn't get the cap on the other to unthread, so that seems like the next spot to try, based on what I've read.

Looking for any suggestions/ specific pointers so I can get up and running again.

I keep seeing that Elmer is the resident expert...

Did you clean the plunger with the nylon insert? Did it move easily in the bore? The other one has to come out too to make sure it moves. Those are the usual suspects when this happens. Usually means it's time for an hyd oil and filter change.

The one with the nylon insert did move freely and wasn't really
dirty, neither was the nylon screen. I just wiped it off and put it
back, haven't had a chance to try to get the cap off the other,
it's on pretty tight and the screwdriver wants to jump out of the
slot(flathead). Planning to work on that later today.

As far as the filter/fluid goes, it is pretty milky. I made the
mistake of leaving it out and it got rained on a about a month
ago. So I agree that I need to change hydraulic oil/filter, but
the loader still works, plumbed in to run off the same pump, so
that is what has me puzzled.

IIRC you have to take the plunger, it's actually a valve assy, apart and clean it out. I had a little piece of grass that messed me up one time, just a flake of grass no bigger than a pencil lead that stopped it from working. The other one needs to slide too, I think that the one with the spring in it. If you have or can borrow/buy one of those hammer impact screw drivers they work good for getting that cap off.

Better plan on picking up a filter and a couple of buckets of hyd oil. if ever there was a tractor that needed at least a canopy, it's a DB 990/995!

I did finally manage to get both screw caps off those valve
assembleys, both are clean/free moving. Put everything back
together and still no lift.
Going to try pulling off the rock shaft and control assembley
and flush it with some diesel or
WD40. Sound like a good plan or not? I think if I go that route
and still no positive results, I will be sending it to the shop.

According to the manual I have, if you pull the control
assembly out of the housing, you need to have an alignment
tool to reinstall and also some "tools" you fabricate yourself.
Not sure I really want to deal with all that.

Don't start pulling things apart!!! Change the oil and filter first. See if that has any effect. For that matter, before you start doing anything else, do you have any hydraulic pressure at all? Do the remote lines stiffen when you activate them? Have you put a gauge on it?

Do you have the shop manual on the selectamatic system? I think the David Brown Tractor Club website has it on their site.

Too late haha, I haven't gotten too deep in it yet, but, yes, I do have hydraulic pressure, I have a loader on, it was working as well as the remote lines stiffening. I do have a manual, and it covers the selectamatic. I figured if I have pressure, it shouldn't be the filter. Plus, the warning light hasn't come on.
