Nice looking SI for sale locally. Tires are good, sheet metal looks really good. Assuming it runs as well as it looks - what is a fair price to give for it? I see there were 3700 of these made, so no idea if they are considered "rare" and valued higher than any other old tractor without hydraulics or live PTO.

value is rated many ways , there are all sorts of bargains out there . my nephew just had a outside sitting 860 massey combine GIVE to Him ... All I Can State is these thoughts ,tiresUP and holding air is worth 500. good tires in these days means over 1000 bux new , if they are flat and rotten ,a rotten tire losing air is like russian roulette when you count up the tire guys trip there and a new tube . engine runnin is worth 500 , runnin slick and strong even more ,all componets workin and compleTe without battlescars to sheet metal and ailments that require tinker time is worth just as much ,most SIs when you do find them , Reasons i say they are getting rarer ,For these reasons .they are beat up ,cantankerous ,modified and butchered and awkward , such SI s go to scrap more often than SCs ... there is a SI wthin 2 miles of me with a heavy concte weight on it and a cable 15ft boom crane , it handles horribly with all that ballast, but ,i marvel at realizing there was a time that it sure beat any alternative method and by far NUTHIN... average pre eagle hitch SC commands 300 to 1500 depending on allstated above ,..WORKING cOMPLETE eagle hitch about 300 more, add 200 for the centerlink and pto plate .these are only my opinions based on my experience in the Louisville Ky area .. i would not take less than 2500 for my 54 SC with front wts , as it sits ,. and it has not ran in 3 yrs !.... then you said it was local ,if you can drive it to your home is a great big PLUS.. trailering these days is worth 2 bux a mile ,, but whose counting LOL , if you wanna do somthin and you have the wherewith all to back it up , there are far worse things you could be doing .

Thanks! I understand the tire issue. And after buying a couple of projects that did not run - especially the running condition. I finally gave up on my 700 after 3K and it still had major engine issues. I will take a close look at this SI and see what the guy is asking.

I have a good work tractor, so these old ones are just neat oddities to have a use a little on a wagon or rolling the driveway.

With what you put in the 700, & I put in it, it has the be the most valuable 700 in America. I don't remember anything said about major engine issues before.

SI's aren't rare, but they are unique, and fun little tractors with their foot clutch and throttle, and usually faster road gear.

Personally, I would put extra value if it was an early model with the S grill, or a late model with eagle hitch. Individual brakes are a small plus, as well some other options that separate it from the pack. An airborne model would also be a plus.
