Anniversary

Hi all;

Today, the 19th, is our wedding anniversary, 50 years.

Thanks to all of you who posted pictures of Albert City. I wanted to go but couldn't. I was going to take my wagon. In June 2013, when I set the world power lifting records I hurt my back on the dead lift, 286.5 lbs. I have had trouble since, some times hardly get around. I can't walk or stand very good. This summer I was starting to walk better, was getting outside and doing a little something, a little at a time. I also put on more weight and it is hard to get enough air. I weighed 360 lbs. on Dr. scale the other day. Now something else is bothering besides my back. I had x-rays done, I have arthritis in my left hip joint.

This was my last year in this age class, 70-74. I wanted to break the records, but I didn't make it. Next year will be a new age class,75-80. There are no records in that class, not in SHW-300+ lbs. It would be nice to set those records. There are records in all the lighter classes under 300. I have kinda owned the SHW class since I started lifting when I was 67. Not bad for a dead man walking. That is what the nurses in ICU called when I was in the coma for 5 weeks. I made a lot of people proud of me for what I did

Charley, Great news not many can say they have been married for 50 years. Your records give you drive to stay healthy. I understand the back problem ,I cannot stand to long also. Take care and I will be watching for the new records.

Happy Anniversary ,..YouAll have done more time than I,.. Been Married 40 yrs but NOT to the SAME Gal .. watch out for your back and that weight you are packing ,..i know the records mean alot to you ,and i wish you Godspeed , BUT .IMHO i wreckt my health yrs ago from not getting enuf rest , working when i was too sik and getting on my sprained or broken ankles too early ..been messed up with a severe summer cold for 10 days ,. starting to come out from under the rock
