M10 sickle mower

I bought a #10 eagle hitch mower today. Of course the stick is rotten and I was told it is a different length than a #10 tail wheel mower. I'm not going to pay Case's w#0%3* house price on a new one. Are they originally hickory? I was told to use ash which we have a lot of. Anyone know the length of the pitman stick? I also need the bracket for a Racine 400 to attach the break a way arm to. I could make one if needed.

Either ash or hickory should work well, as well as white oak or black locus. As for the length, maybe someone here can provide dimensions, but if not, set the cutter blade at the far end of travel, likewise with the flywheel attachment, and measure. Good luck.

Doug I assume it is the same stick my trail mower uses. I bought a stick at Runnings for a different brand and drilled it to fit the CASE. You are welcome to take measurements if you like. Rod.

I have a M-10 here maybe the stick is still on it I will look,,, T-11609 is the part # for both the T-10 and M-10 mowers my M-10 still has the factory pitman stick I will try to get you a measurement

I would have thought they would use the same one also. A friend has both and he says they are different. When I get down that way I will stop by. Case used an extremely long stick. I have my disc mower and my 1000 IH sickle mower but want to play around with this one on my 400.

Years back, I bought a junk CASE mower for 5 dollars having broken pitman bar. Matched up pieces (still had factory paint),measured and cut my own. Something didn't work out right, and I learned a valuable lesson about meaning of register.Made another aND that one worked, but promptly broke it as 3ph didn't maintain proper height off ground. Decided to build several at same time. Found chuck of old piece of Oak and cut out 10 pieces (1 1/2 thick x1 wide x length). Hardest job was to drill a3/4 inch hole in end for spring latch. They work. Company prices are outrageous. Build you're own with basic table saw and good drill. I'll be using my mower any day now to cut ditch banks and pond edge
