Setting toe in 970 1070

Had a steering arm break on the 1070 when I was backing into the shed the other day, no big deal I have a parts machine out back.
Went and changed the arm, installed it with the exact same orientation as the old one then grabbed a tape measure to see where the toe in was set.
I was expecting to see somewhere around 1/4 toe in.
It measured almost 2 inches of toe out.
Went and measured the front of my 970 it is 1 3/4 toe in.
Guess I have some more work to do when the rain stops.

Visually you can not really see it with the rib tires on them, anybody else take a tape measure to the front wheels lately?

I figure these two have been running like this for years.

I have always set them at 1/4 in toe-in like you mentioned with very good results. Honestly after all these years I can't say I have ever checked to see what the manual
says. Rod.
