My 1930 C Case

My 1930 C had not been started since the State Fair in 2015. About a month ago I took the gas line off at the carburetor and let the old gas run out on the ground. This morning I poured in 2 gallons of fresh gas and opened the valve at the sediment bowl. I set the throttle and choke and gave it 2 or 3 quarter turns of the crank. Because I have run this run this tractor for over 50 years, I know it's safe to spin it so I did and it started up just like it had been run yesterday; not bad for an 87 year old machine that my grandfather purchased in 1930.

Yes it is. To me it is remarkable these fine old tractors are still running. Really a testimony to the Case company.

I use to pull a 30 L each year in July and August. In between times it just sat outside. Each July I'd turn on the gas and it would fire on the third pull of the crank. That would be the third compression stroke and it would be running....amazing tractors.
