What direction are you coming from? You do NOT want to come up hwy 71 in Iowa from the south. There is a scale just north of the junction of hwy 20 and 71 south of Storm Lake. They can be open or closed at any hour of any day.

They gave me a hefty fine for tinted windows on my semi a few years ago. Course the guys with the Petes with the bottom 1/2 of the windshield tinted go on thru....had Iowa plates. Plus was told to take the tint off the side windows which is still there.
