Case F170 side delivery rake

I use horse drawn equipment.
I am looking at purchase of a Case side delivery rake.

I believe that this model is a case F170 and it is 4 bar with an enclosed gearbox.

Could anyone who has used this model tell me for sure if it can ted like the New Ideas or older IH models?

I only want to purchase if the gearbox can be reverse to ted the rows.

Don't know the exact model number, but the Case rake I borrowed from my Amish
neighbor could be reversed by a lever on the gearbox.

Nothing in the lit. that says an F170 rake will ted. The bottoms of the coil teeth are bent forward also. Teeth would be straight if it was to ted hay.

Your post brings back many memories. My Dad had a 170 with a tractor pole and my Uncle Dave had one with a horse pole. For their time they were a very good rake. Neither one had the ability to ted hay. Don
