Thanks for the reply. The seal is a heavy neoprene seal on a 530 rockshaft. I'm wanting to make sure which way the oil pushes. I think it pushes the piston forward with the oil entering from the rear of the housing. Dick

I would sure think the oil would be pushing from the top, on your parts page, toward the bottom to force the piston into the rod to rotate the rocker shaft. When I lip off, someone that really knows will chime in and we'll both know........... Larry
