Well, got tractor back. Drove the 3.5 miles home; took about 40 minutes. New temp gauge peaked at 160 degrees near the end of the run. Have no idea how accurate these new gauges are or if this is normal operating temperatures. Purred like a kitten.
Now lots of clean up and more maintenance. First photo is leaving neighbor's; second photo is when our place came into view, (behind our windbreak). Realized my cast front wheels also carry fluid filled front tires. Not sure I need that fluid, but doubt any future leakage will damage the cast wheels much. One rear rim looks dicey by the valve stem though. Rust/scaling. We tried to replace the water-core unit, and while it did come out OK, did not have the right insert. Off to town tomorrow to try to find an old unit.
Harvest beginning here this week. Things will get busy.
