case 580ck shuttle drive knocking

About 18 months ago I bought a 1973 Case 580ck. When I bought it I changed all of the fulids. This past weekend the shuttle drive all of a sudden started making a loud knocking noise. I instantly shut it down. I stared it back up and the knocking noise happens as soon as I put the shuttle in forward or reverse. The tractor does appear to move when I put it in gear. However, I did not move it but a few inches before shutting down again, fear of causing more damage. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this or experienced this? Any help is much appreciated.
 
I am guessing you may have a tooth off a gear that runs when you have the 4 speed in "N" that or a bearing if it was me I would pull the 4 speed shifter and start it up and see if you can find where the knock is coming from
 

I pulled the covers off the shuttle drive. I did not seen any issue. The housing was extremely clean. Screen have zero material clogging it. The knocking happens when the shuttle drive is engaged in forward or reverse. When I push in the clutch it goes away. Any ideas??
