I have a case "L" series tractor that is in our shed ; belonged to my Grandpa; has sat there for years; engine turns over fine with crank. I did look up the serial no I found on the tool box; L 309832; seems to be a "1937" model. Anyone shed any light on this tractor for me? value? worth restoring? Thanks!

man , it is your granpas,,. if you have the where with all , and the know how, and can keep it shedded , of course it should be kept up for a family heirloom , unless family values in your area has eroded to nuthin,. if you people put aprice on everything and a value on nuthin , then god help you ,.

If it was my Grandpa's it wouldn't be leaving my farm, period. You will have lots of fun with this great workhorse, with lots guts. Think of the plow days, or shows where you can show her off. And talk about the history.

Get going on her.

Ho up here guys; not sure what I said but I better look! Its NOT leaving our farm! Im just asking for information on this model - and its value restored? Its history....that's all.

ok...so 38 - 3 = 35.....? Why do they do that? Most serial numbers designate one number of the SS number for the year....right? But thanks- good to know.

Your comment (worth restoring? Thanks! ) made me wonder your intentions.

I have a restored 1938 "L" and it has a rich history.

If your Grandpa bought that new in 1935 he would have to have been one the people that knew what he was doing and doing right. Something to be proud of.

yes he did - and thanks! He also bought 5 qrts of land in Colorado in the 30's....but a lot of the older farmers did. I wish I know what he paid for it! Thanks,
