Went the loop with this thing already!! I don't know what to think. spent money on the book but it ain't tellin me what I need to know. The tractor just won't move at all. I took the pressure line loose from the valve body (where the foot peddle hooks up), started it, And NOTHING came out. This tells me there is a pressure issue...I am noty getting fluid to it. The way the book reads it could be the vavle body, or the regulator valve, or the tranny pump or clogged lines ect ect. Well I had it all apart. NOTHING is clogged, nothing seemed to be stuck in the either of the bodies..and I had my finger over the end of the pump suck-in tube and it had some suction (was it enough?...I don't know). I am too far into this thing now to sell it off and quit. Can someone tell me WHAT they think is wrong with it? I got more time than I do money. I'd like to try fixing it myself. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks much.

....I might point out that I am getting NO pressure to the foot peddle valve body. My guess is nothing is pumping because the pump is broke. But Others say it may be a stuck valve. My thing is...if no fluid is coming out in one place then why should it come out in another? I think its the pump...but don't know. Need help.

I assume you have it full of fluid in the correct compartment,, if the pump is making suction as you say and there is enough oil in it then I would say it cannot put the oil any where, have you tried taking the flow control valve off and cranking the engine to see if you get it to prime and pump oil then? I am thinking that is the first place that gets oil,, if it still does not you must have either a bad pump or a key sheared in the pump maybe and stopping it from pumping,, did it ever have oil flow or do you know?

WOW what a day!!! Rather than wait on the repair guy to call back I decided to go out side and troubleshoot it bachyard mechanic style. First, I took the line loose from the vavle body plate (see pic of me pointing at it). Then I started it. Fluid came out so I shut it off. Then I back tracked to where the tube went. It went to the filter up front. Took it loose there, started ol tractor, fluid came out, shut it off. SO! Now I know I was getting fluid to up front. So then I started thinkin " if it was pumpin fluid up to here then why isnt it pumpin it back"? So I was guessing somewhere up front was a clog. And sure enough.....it was a clogged radiator (or I should say, the fluid cooler in it). I had taken that radiator out when I took the motor out to get it rebuilt. It started to get dark out so I shut things down for the night but I am guessing a mud dobber built a nest up inside of it. So gunna see if I can flush it out with the water hose in the morning. Probably go get a new filter while I am at it. Boy...it sure feels good when you finally get something fixed, ya know?

Good for you Riley! :D Mud Daubers have driven me crazy on everything from blocking an exhaust port on a weed whacker to the nozzle on a torch to a brand new fuel line. Always try to remember to cover any small opening to tape.
