case 380 hydraulic issues

Hello, I am new to the forum and certainly both appreciate and respect any advice that you can offer. I have recently purchased a case 380 (1977 David Brown according to the serial #) and it has 2 issues. The 1st I knew about the 2nd I did not. 1st- the 3pt hitch will not go up or down. I have the operations manual and have tried to work the levers the correct way and I can not get it to move at all. 2nd- I took the tractor for a ride before I bought it and operated the front bucket every way that it could be and everything worked fine. When I got it home and put a load in the front bucket I got NOTHING. Under load it will not lift tilt or do anything. If I keep trying to raise, it wil go up a 1/2 inch at a time and then stop. No leaks. Guy before me said he changed the hydraulic fluid. Now he will not return my calls. I have other case machines and have never had this problem before. Thanks for any help that you can offer. God Bless

I am not familiar with that tractor model, but from the symptoms you describe, I would immediately check hydraulic fluid level!! Do not continue
to operate before doing so or you may score the pump....big$$.

Thank you Bradley, I will check it. The guy that I bought it from said that he had just changed out the fluid, but that when he bought it the fluid was very low. Thanks again
