Any Rice Guys out there?

This is not exactly a Case question, but we run 3-1030's, 3-930's, an 830 and an 800 & a 580B. So, You are close to family! Here goes, we are raising 700 acres of rice in Cambodia and we harvest with rubber track Kubota combines in the mud. They are rubber tracked and the rollers seem to hold up in the mud. We need a grain cart with tracks and I was wondering if anyone knew if they would hold up running in water and mud? We would pull it with a D-5B with long tracks and swamp growers. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance!

Ted, Nice to see a post from you. Just wondering if any of the DC conversions to fwa and Toyota? motors are still in use? Always interested in the work your doing in Cambodia. I know that is not tractor related but I encourage you to share thanks for your service gobble

I drive through rice country in Arkasas a lot and don't see carts with tracks much there. Don't see tractors with them either. Don't know why tho. Maybe they don't roll in the mud? Of course those folks don't have a sinking issue and they mostly use rice tires to get down to the hard pan and bite. We have some rice not far from where I live and they use tracks on combines, but I don't know about the carts. Those guys have real issues with sinking too.

Raised on the Tx. coast in the rice country and never seen tracks on carts. The auger wagons used 23.1x26 rice tires. The problem with getting the carts out of the field was crossing the levies. Also, we drained the water off the fields before cutting.....that doesn't mean it was always dry. The old closed center Firestone tires were awesome in the mud, run them about half flat, and they would self clean.

I dont live near any rice farmers but i do live in an area where mud and combines seem to go hand in hand. Most people here run wide floation tires on thier carts. But after seeing the picture you have provided i would say you need wide tracks on a cart.
