Hyd pressure for dc?

What is a late model dc suposed to have for hydraulic pressure and how high can you set it without damaging the pump? My dc doesn't really lift very well so some testing is in order. The pump that is on it came from somethig else, but I can't remember what. I'm thinking either a 400 or 930 6spd.

400 would turn backwards to fit a DC. Pump from a 930 6 speed will fit, but the drive coupling must be custom made because it needs to be shorter than any that came on a factory tractor. I have an Eagle Hitch DC that has a hydraulic pump on it from an older DC. It will lift the front end off the ground with the Eagle Hitch. The pumps from the older tractors are usually in better condition because they did not run unless the PTO was running so they have far less hours on them. I think they were set about 1500 PSI. 2000 would be pushing them.

I agree with you ,,, Jon when you do try shimming it Use a Gauge and shim stock NOT a dime or a penny you Will split the pump seen it many times sadly
