Case A6 Combines

working restoration of a late 1930's A6 combine. It is galvanized metal. Anybody have an operators manual I could get a copy of?

No manual, but Bin or bagger? I spent much time bagging wheat and soybeans on an A6 with a Wisconsin V4 parked up on top, we carried a water can for when the chaff caught fire in the fins, dumped water and put fire out, restart and do it all over again.

Those were the days, cutting high school to work the crops.

Fond memories of an A-6..........Don't let that bugger stall. We didn't have a starter, just a hand
crank. As a matter of fact there are still 3 of them hanging in the granary. Dad fabbed up a flat belt
pulley welded to a crank that's still there too. Many a time after a short shut down, we'd have to belt
it up to Grandpa's JD B to spin it to life. Actually thinking about while writing, I think the Wisconsin
on the baler was more of a hot start issue. Our last A-6 was a pto model, when live power came to the
farm

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!, I did forget to mention that I have a permanent bridge of 3 front teeth from the crank popping off when I was spinning it, falls under the category of not so fond memories!!!!!!!!!

We started ours with a flatbelt also. after the teeth thing.

A6 manual from 1946

Now, umpteen years later, I totally agree. The coil or mag heat soaks when it shuts down and it's all over for a while...............
