Hydraulic not working

I have a 1951 case v a c I can't get it to prime the three point pump to work I tried putting air to the top of the gear box where I think you put in the hydraulic fluid at the dip stick Any ideas

Torque tube is the hydraulic reservoir. The fill plug is just in front of the clutch pedal. Should be filled to the bottom of the fill hole. Universal hydraulic fluid will work fine. Lee

You are probably low on hydraulic oil if the pump won't pickup. The pump is self priming if there is residual oil in the pump body. In addition to the fill plug per VACLee there is a small breather under the gas tank that you will need to plug if trying to pressurize the torque tube. The hole with the dipstick is the 4 speed transmission.
