Case 970 guages

I recently purchased a 970. All the gauges work with the exception of the transmission pressure gauge. Is this important to have working or not? The tractor will be used as a loader tractor with low hours per year. Thanks.

I would think that would be one of the more important ones. Want to make sure it is in the normal operating range at all times.

I checked and looked at the wrong gauge. The transmission pressure gauge Is working. It is the transmission temperature gauge that is not. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That gauge once in the while can be helpful but for the most part not many would miss it if it did not operate.Commonly the tractor needs to run a hour or so before the needle ever moves, and when it does a quarter inch is about it under normal conditions. The most common cause for not working is the wire is not connected to the sending unit which is on the lower RH side of the PTO housing. Rod.
