Hy on my dB case 885 the voltage stabilizer isn't allowing
Electric currant through can I bypass it .
I know it is wired in to the fuel Gauge.
Thanks chris

Voltage stabilizer??? Do you by chance mean voltage regulator?? If you do no you cannot by pass it because if you do the generator will over charge the battery and then the battery will be fried

Cve,

The parts diagram shows the voltage stabilizer you need but no idea if it is still available from Case. I doubt if you would burn the gages up hooking direct but the gages may read higher, you could carefully try it, the purpose of those was to keep the gage voltage constant rather than fluctuate with system voltage. IIRC the older Ford cars and trucks used one as well, would be interesting to see if they could be found and adapted. Good luck.

Just checked old Ford stuff and it appears they used a 5 V reference for their gages so be careful sending full 12V to them without verifying the working voltage did u check the db forum on the internet?

Thanks mEl
I tried to bypass it and fuel gauge went
to full. Tank is about 3/4 full I will see
if I can get from CaseIH parts and leave
it unhooked for now.
Thanks chris

CVE; If you know the voltage you need to operate gauges you could use one or more of the 7800 series volt regulators. Probably have to do some u-tube and google to figure the exact circuit and load. One per gauge if necessary. Don't know all the voltage variations they are available in but 7809 would be 9 volts. 7812 for 12volts and so on. HTH Tom

IH used those on the instruments in trucks back in the 60's. Pain in the neck. They pulsated and practical voltage was supposed to be about 5 volts . Lot of weird gauge reading when they acted up.

Yes learnt a lot about voltage stabilizers
They where used a lot in the UK on autos and tractors
Fuel Gauges and temperature Gauges this voltage
Stabilizer set at 10 volts and can handle maximum
Of 3 Gauges.
