My 970 takes a tip for the hydraulic cylinders that is not your normal pioneer tip. I was told it is the old IH tip. I have a couple tips I can't seem to cross. The ones that work are a Bruning S 502 I am assuming that is a obsolete # can anyone give me a current tip #

You need an old style J.I.Case tip. IH has nothing to do with Case pre 1985.
Just google "pioneer hydraulic tip case" and look around or call (or google) Elmer's Repair. He carries then for about $20.00.
Actually, any tractor or implement dealer regardless of brand who is worth his salt should be able to grab a Pioneer book and order whatever you need. Male, female or even adapters to go from your Case tractor to any other style of tip. Our farm supply stores used to carry them but anymore it seems all they have are JD and IH tips. Keep in mind "Pioneer" is a manufacturers name, not a tip style, but what all tractors use today is an ISO tip commonly called a pioneer tip, but they actually make many styles for many brands pre ISO. Once you find the number you need you can probably find it on ebay with free shipping.
