case magneto

i am trying to identify the modelof this magneto so i can order parts. any help would be appreciated.

That's a model JMA.Parts are hard to find. It has the early style points. Are harder to find.

The answer to your question is stamped into the mag at the bottom mount hole. It gives model and serial #. I wrote all mine down so if it came up missing or maybe just swapped by the repair guy. I have never seen one as clean as yours just off the tractor! Like they say parts are where you find them and they are found in plain sight. Case aircraft mags on ebay! I have bought three for around $50. each after sending seller an offer. Inside they look brand new. If you buy the same model, every part and piece inside is the same as yours. If you don't like the cap, pull the carbons with springs out to use in your cap, they will be like new too! The mag case and shaft are not usable for anything but scrap as far as I know. The large condenser in your mag probably was out of aircraft mag. All three of mine had those. Please keep this info to yourself as I wouldn't want everyone to know! chuck.

I talked to Rudy but he is out of stock so I will send mine in and have him rebuild it.

That looks like a Case 4-JMA. Parts are quite scarce. You could check with Rudy if you google Rebuiltmags. He does a great job with rebuilds, and may have some parts you need.
