SC mechanical lift to hydraulic

I have two SO and two SC and all have mechanical lift. I want hydraulics and have a parts DC with same. Do any or all of the parts
fit one to the other, not doable or what? Any suggestions? chuck.

There is not to much to gain, I don't feel. you can get the back casting/reservoir as a hyd pump was an option those years. No hitch and it's not live. A 51 or newer is so inexpensive and common I guess I'd just opt for that as you'd then have LIVE POWER and the twin spool pump was very common and really makes it a versatile useful tractor. Eagle hitch works with about any small implement. My early SC runs my PTO wood splitter and hauls wood out of the woods in the winter and that's it, but the '53 runs the bush hog, plows the garden with a 2/16 BER plow and so on. The "live" part of the pto and hydraulics is what makes it useful.

I think it bolts on. Not sure if the length of the PTO is the same, or if the spline on the front is the same. The PTO shaft from the mechanical lift has a gear on it, and the hydraulic one has a sprocket on it. Try it and let us know.

The rear cover assembly appears and measures to be the same on the D, DC, SO's, and SC's. The length of the pto shaft is 5" longer. The 41' SC is center exhaust is being kept original and will be sold. The 42' SC had the drawbar assembly and a planter was cobbled on. I could fix it all with this change over. Both SC's have 1 1/8" pto diameter. Overall it looks like a straight swap but I have no information as to the pto drive connection in/out etc. Changing to live pto maybe the best way to go but I am in SoCal. and there are no Case lettered tractors or parts to be found out here! I had been looking to by a DC or SC with eagle hitch out here but I have never seen one for sale or not!

Chuck,

Do you mind if I ask for a photo and serial number of your '41 Center Exhaust? I have one as well, and I have been trying to keep a log for years of all the ones that I stumble upon that are left. It would be a greatly appreciated!

Serial # SC4502663. As for pics, I had a pic of yours as my desktop for months until grand kids became OUR priorty here. I will send pics to your email next coupla days. chuck.

Thank you Chuck! You've been added to my registry. Currently, I have chronicled 17 remaining center exhaust SC's. I am flattered that you had my picture up on your screen for a while! I look forward to seeing photos of your SC!

He could have three! Mine is in rough condition but complete. Motor not stuck and has a ribbed block casting date of 12-41. The
42' SC is in better condition and it is the one I was wanting to put hydraulics on. I do not restore or paint tractors, I do not
have the time, money or skills for sheetmetal. All I do is repair to a level of safety and function use it and start on the next
in line..................chuck.

I have looked in to this my self and found that it is all the same except the hydraulic is bigger on the DC and the pin is bigger on the lift arms for the hydraulic. But it will all bolt up.
