Drug the 811B up to the garage

Well, I finally drug the 811b up so I can see what busted in the tranny. That only took 2-3 years! I was disking and going along fine when all the sudden she quit moving and makes a grinding noise when you let the clutch out and doesn't want to shift at all. I figure a shifter fork maybe?

Boy, I don't know. This just went all at once like the gear jumped out. Any bearing I've ever had go bad went over time, be it an hour or a month. I guess I'll know when I open it up.

it jumped out of gear when it did it, sorry may have missed that still sounds like a bearing kicked the balls out under load and allowed gears to slip I sure hope i am wrong though, I have seen when the reverse idler bearing is going out it jumped out of gear under load, but I am just guessing
cnt

Loren is right, gotta pull the cover to be sure, but I'm betting on something w/ the Range Shaft or Collars.

Aha! When people mentioned bearings I was picturing the big ball bearings on the main shafts. Pretty sure it's the "Bushing" on the reverse idler gear waaaaay down int he bottom of the tranny. It wobbles like a drunk getting off a roller coaster. At least 2 of the shifter forks have been welded, which isn't really what I wanted to see. But, I paid $800.00 for this tractor and haven't put another $500 into it outside of a tire. It's going to have to go to my neighbor the Case expert to be split and repaired. That won't be till fall anyway. Thanks for the help!

John- ran into another local customer of yours named J. Sergel. We both had nothing but nice things to say about you. :D

Some would argue about the "nice things". Jordan's a good kid. He has tackled some big projects. Where's you run into him? Did you tell him how we 1st met?

He lives about 3 miles from me. I told him the story!

I'll be contacting you later for parts I imagine...
