How to remove Eagle Hitch lift arms?

I'm trying to remove my Eagle hitch lift arms, but that large pin doesn't seem to slide left or right.

Any thoughts how to take them off? My shop manual was not any help.

You might want to look at the picture again. It is the smaller series, probably either a 200 or 300. They do have removable pins. May have to take the outside support off to get them off anyway. The pins get pretty tight with rust and you can't get to the inside to tap them out. Lee

You got it gents, great memory. I have an early 530.

For the most part, I have been really enjoying the Eagle Hitch. It has worked great for my back blade. I had to make a minor cut to my chisel plow, but now it works great. My bushhog is ever so slightly too wide and the pins are stuck as stuck so I am having trouble reversing them (the next solution is to just drill out 2 new holes just below). I also have a rototiller which has a unique 3pt connection (no pins, just two clevis connections which the claws cannot fit depth-wise into).

Anyway, I wanted to remove those EH lift arms because I think distance wise, a 3pt lift arm would actually attach really well to that spot. That would solve some of my issues. If that was one big pin on the EH, it would be a 5 min change. Maybe down the road I will get my buddy to weld up a bracket that bolts onto the same spot that allows for a big pin (and 3pt arms). I wanted to try this without wrecking anything on the original EH.

Side note: I did get the rototiller on the EH by sliding the pins (remember, clevis style) through the hole in the claws when the hitch is open... if that makes sense. This allowed for just enough room for the claws depth-wise. Worked for slow moving tilling anyway.

Thanks for the help. I'm still quite happy with the 530. It just can be frustrating adapting sometimes.

Thanks for that! I appreciate the help.

That is almost exactly what I was planning to do. The part diagram you just linked shows a different bracket/pin setup, but I think that a standard 3pt arm off the shelf at TSC will fit right on to that existing "pin". I think I will just have to take off one bracket (each side) to get access to it. I can slide off the EH draft arm and slide on a 3pt arm. That is what I can tell just off of visual inspection and such. Given that the 3pt arm has swivel balls on both sides, it will give me slightly more sway side to side I think combined with the fact that the arms are slightly curved anyway. I suppose the sway limitation will end up being the actual hydraulic lift arms ability to sway.

I will take off those brackets and give it a shot.

I kinda hate to lose the claw setup though, it is nice to just lift up to a piece of implement to hook up.

I started to clean it up a bit and repaint some of the surfaces. Starting to look pretty decent I think.
