Ive got a chance to buy a Case 400 diesel. It would be my first Case since a friend of mine had a sc 35 years ago. How good a tractor are they and what is the deal with the eagle hitch? Does it take special adapters to use three point equipment? Do i have to look for equ9ipment with the Eagle claw hitch ? All i know is it runs good and is rusty. Thanks in advance, tim

I use mine daily, and absolutely love it. These are mid 50's tractors, with mid 50's technology but sweet. It certainly is one of the best looking tractors by far. It certainly eclipses the later ones. I use my 830ck to but the 400 is classier. I've used every kind of implement imaginable on mine. If the hitch arm pivots are wore, you may want to use a large washer and pin to keep the hitch arms from sliding off, but that's minor. The Eagle Hitch pins, on implements, have a spud on the end as part of the pin. If you like old tractors, this is one of the best.

Bought my 411 from a fine fellow down in Aviston Illinois back in 2012 It has been a great ride ,and I haven't looked back. A great tractor. CM

Since the EH arms are rigid sometimes the hitch pins on non Case implements have to be turned around to match the EH width. I put lynch pins in the pin holes on my non Case implements and that works just fine to keep arms from slipping off.
