Case 530 shuttle cover won't come off.

Hi folks! First post in a long time. recently I bought a Case 530 backhoe with a bad motor. Had the motor rebuilt, put it on, fired it up and everything works but the transmission. When I first tried driving it it would go REAL slow. Then next day I changed out the fluids. Then it wouldn't move at all. The fluid is not the problem. The problem is it just won't move. Someone told me to take the top cover off of the shuttle transmission and see if the pump is bad.As of this writing, I have removed all of the cover bolts...but the cover just won't come loose! I tried tapping on it with a 5 pound hammer..didn't work. I tried hooking the chain hoist to it and put some tension on it and THEN tap and pry on it....didn't work. Can someone please tell me how to get that cover off of there? I bought a book on it but it won't get here for another 4 days. Any help will be appreciated.

First things first do you have a dry clutch or Case-O Matic drive? if you have a com unit which would be the only reason a "pump" would make it move that pump is not under the shuttle cover it would be under the torque tube cover in front of the shuttle cover, to access that you have to pull the fuel tank just for starters, and even then I would bet that is not your issue as it is a low pressure system and those pumps seldom go out and not the way you describe, there is two places to put oil in them the torque tube and the transmission/rear end housing, the torque tube takes hyd oil the trans takes 90wt oil, if you have a COM you will have levers on both sides on the steering wheel, LH one the throttle RH one will be the COM lock-up lever for direct drive or COM drive, if you can post some pics of the dash area that will help identify what you have, if you do have a COM I am guessing you are just low on fluid as you have not found the fill plug, or if its full of oil you may have a flow valve stuck from sitting not letting the oil get to the COM system, if you have a dry clutch model I am betting the clutch plate is shot and slipping,, bit more info is needed to pin point your issues

when you do get the top to come off the gasket the shuttle must be in reverse position to allow the fork to clear the front of the opening.

That one should have a roll pin for alignment as well I am betting, they can be Stuck Hard I forgot about the fork on the shuttle covers ,, been a while since I had one off,, Hope you are feeling better mEl, Bro kept me in the loop on how things were going

Hi...I believe it is a case-o-matic. It has 2 shifters, one on each side. It has a hydraulic clutch. It has 2 levers on each side of the steering wheel. The one on the left makes it rev up when pulled down. I was told it has a shuttle drive. Not at all sure. I bought a cd repair manual on ebay yesterday. It won't get here for 4 days. I'd like to take a look inside but I cant seem to get that cover off. It has 2 drain plugs. one under the round part up front where I believe a clutch is...(I don't think it is a clutch. I had the motor out...and the best I can say is it seems to be a flywheel that hooks up to a shuttle flywheel per all the pictures I've seen). The other drain is underneath below where the hydraulic clutch housing sits...the thing the clutch peddle is connected to.

We are fine here cn, just a bit of routine maintainance. Got 6 years out of the original pacemaker and it needed a new Duracell, seriously they replaced it with a new device. incision healing and taking Keflex for infection and arm in sling for 2 weeks, we'll see how that works out!
