Hey guys, I have a 1949 Sc that I am in the process of rehabbing and I'm not sure where the fill is for the hydraulic system. It looks like it may be right next to the trans fill plug left side of tractor under the seat. It just seems to close to the trans plug. I know where the filter and drain are just want be sure thanks.

Thanks it seemed likely, I have several manuals and not one could confirm that. Case Nutty would you happen to know fluid type and capacity? I'm assuming I can use standard hydraulic fluid. Thanks for your time.

Yes just use a good quality hyd fluid, I run Hy-Tran in mine works great, original specs were a 10wt motor oil in winter and 30wt in the summer, and takes 9 1/2 quarts or to the bottom of the level plug on the housing

Thanks again. I'm new to this old iron it is amazing how logical it is. It is almost like they were engineered to save you money by being able to service them yourself and not have to rely on a dealer. I popped the hood to my wife's car and there a plastic shield, no resemblance of an engine, and the manual says please have a certified tech at you local dealer handle it. How the times have changed!
