Case E16 Plow Progress

Well I have been busy lately but here are some pictures of the progress on the plow. The heel had evidently been broken long ago but the bolt held it in place. Those heels seem to be uncommon (and that one looks hardly used) so I will try to weld it. Had to get out the heat wrench to take off many of the bolts. Wire wheeled, sand blasted, muriatic acid-ed, and HD power-washed it several times before priming and painting. Of course I missed some spots so touch ups will be in order for the future as well as adjustment of the bolts holding the moldboard on. Also is a picture of the stamping on the back of the moldboard. As stated earlier it is a TCX16 instead of the usual CX16.

Is that what you would call a sod bottom. Looks like a longer moldboard to roll sod over. Have many Case plows here but also have a Allis Chalmers plow with regular and separate sod bottoms.

I Know I have another book just on shares and bottoms but so far it has eluded me, I think this one referrs to your bottom but I have no books on a single bottom plow, this does list a ""EXT" I assume this would be the same style as yours??? I will keep looking as I have time

Thanks for the information Case Nutty!

RJ Keith, the paint is Oliver green but it seems to blend into the Case implement green pretty well.

I have a hard time telling those bottoms apart. The scotch bottoms are pretty easy to pick out from a distance as well as the slats but some of the others look almost identical at a glance.
