Flambeau Tractors Without Fenders

Did CASE make any flambeau red tractors without fenders? Pretty common for Farmalls not to have them.

Thanks,

Weren't the fenders an "added cost" item? On Farmall H's they were available at extra cost and had to be ordered at the same time as the tractor was ordered. If the tractor was "in stock" and had fenders with it, you could ask the dealer to remove them and the tractor cost less. At least that was what my Dad told me about our two H's that didn't have fenders. He had bought both of them new. The 1944 model didn't come with them (it was a war time model & hard to get, you had to be on a list) and on the 1947 model he had them taken off by the dealer so the tractor would cost less. I wonder if Case didn't have the same deal, but because the platform was not as wide as the Farmalls were, the owners of Case tractors kept the fenders. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

Come to think of it I don't remember ever seeing a Case tractor without fenders. In this neck of the woods practically no Deere two bangers had fenders and most Farmalls of that era did not have fenders. Olivers had fenders and so did the Masseys and Minnie's.

The story was told in one of the CASE club magazines, that a Case engineer had seen someone fall off a tractor without fenders and when he became an employee of Case he insisted that Case tractors have fenders.

Fenders were standard on Case, now as for Farmall and John Deere it cost you extra. There where a few states that had laws that all tractors
Sold in that state had to have fenders.

If I remember rite, Wis.had a law many, many years back that all new tractors sold in Wis. had to have fenders on them. This was before the two tone ones were on the market.
Living near the Wis.-Ill. line, when going to Wis. we would see tractors with fenders , but the same models in Ill. did nt have fenders. J D s and Farmall s were the most noticable. clint

Dad told me that between picking corn with a 2ME picker and cultivating with the super M, that those fenders weighed a bit, and some days he just did not have the strength to put them back on. Good thing OSHA never climbed up on a Super M and set in the seat. Lots of Chain and sprockets there. Just sayin.CM
