The main Boom and the Dipper boom cylinder valves leak through the top of the valve-bank on the valve itself. Do these valves have o-rings in them or are the valves machined to not leak.
I would imagine that I'll have to take the back-hoe off the tractor to get at the valve-bank. Not looking forward to that. Anybody ever work on these things? This a Case 32 back-hoe.

yes they have orings/seals top and bottom, also have orings in between each valve section, mark each section so you can reassemble in the Correct order, they are not all the same, as for removing the backhoe that is easy and only takes a few min to do, do you have a ops manual to tell you how to do it? also I highly advise to pressure wash the valve before you take anything apart as dirt entry is a big No-No here
