Whats an easy way to get on a VAC

So I use one of the VACs I have a lot but it is a real pain to get on. It has the Stockton 3 point hitch on it so the bars etc are in the way to get on form the front side. And from the back if you have sometime on the 3 point again it is hold to climb up on. Plus with my bad knee that does not help or my bad back.

Also the 3 point does not seem to lift as much as it should. I have tried to shim up the relief valve but that did not help. Been thinking about swapping out the whole PTO/Hyd unit since I have 2 extra ones

Rich, there ain't no easy way. I added an extra step to mine and it is still tough for an old man like me.

I figured some one would say that. Maybe a small step ladder and a place to hang it LOL

I have thought about making new pull rods for the Stockton Hitch and using welded inverted triangular gussets at the ends to lower the pull bars close to the floor boards.

The later VAC's with 34" rear tires had a step bolted to the front of the floorboards to help in getting on and off. A lot of early VAC's have had these added to them to help in getting on/off.

Agreed ,ADK,///Rich, i would bet the stokton hitch has a lot of metal to get slip footed on ,my 49 VAC is easy as pie to climb up the back , but no 3 pt hitch .... .. my chemo-ed concrete legs have me rigin extra steps on my 1070 , and 430s,,nuthin spectacular or worthy of pix . i just root thru my steel pile and find sumthin i can bolt on the clutch side ,,.the 1st one i did only had one bolt hole ,that became a possible hit or miss shin banger.i advise 2 secured bolts ,.. last summer i got a DB 1210 with loader from Columbia Mo ,. the low frame extra step is truely built for guys like us , Rich ,... but You Know What ?,,. i STUBT my Big Toe worst than i ever did in my life on the damrunning board ,.. i carry that injury like a Medal to commemorate my Grandson Jackson 1st short tractor ride ,,.. boy did thatt toe smart,,and still does ,,. but i did not frett , and i did not cry ,,, i Just Thanked GOD , that i lived to give Jackson his 1st Tractor RIDE
