770 power shift problems

Found a 770 diesel for sale. Power shift. Called and man says the transmission is out. Didn't get a clear answer if it moves at all or shifts. He doesn't seem to know much about it. He thinks it's pumping transmission fluid out somehow and it's leaking out somewhere near the starter? Any ideas? Would it be worth going to look at or would I be buying a money pit? I'm not familiar with the power shifts either. Thanks.
