I've had my 1953 SC for about 3 years. Photos attached of her when and where I found her. Has cracked nose casting which PO, "fixed," by banding around where the crank hole is. I have good replacement casting but figure the loader will have to come off to replace casting. Also have complete, spare, wide front axle, etc., just to be sure I won't be short of parts.
SO..my question today is do any of you retain and use a Wagner loader on your SC's???? Sure seems a heavy attachment for what appears to me to be a light duty front end. My Wagner is the correct model and a good fit, but that does not convince me to keep it. I am considering my options: sell the whole outfit as is, or, in about 3 weeks my neighbor and semi-retired tractor mechanic is ready to do all the repairs. (I'm too old now to take on heavy work by myself) I have new paint, new rear seat rubber, "spring," (another $100), plus a couple manuals and a few other parts. Tractor runs great and has fresh head rebuild, carb rebuild and a very good Delco distributor conversion, (still have original mag).
My main interest here is to request comments on these loaders on this tractor.
Thanks, Dennis - Odessa/Ritzille, E WA state
