Got my 1030 engine all together and ready to install this weekend. Hope to get it in and running today. No real problems and only a couple missteps along the way. Put the first 2 rods in backward before I realized my mistake. Also had the first fire rings upside down. Luckily I those mistakes before torquing. Took forever to clean as the cooked on dirt was thick and hard. For the lower bores I used some jb weld and then a hone to get them nice and smooth. They looked good when done. I've only used jb weld once before and that was on a 930 lower bore and it is still holding after 20 years, so hope this one works too. Kinda heavy when all together tho as that is as high as the dc will lift it. I'll have to use the neighbors 806 and loader to install it. Hope that doesn't hurt anything. I'll post more pics later, internet is real slow at the house for some reason these days so when I get on the road and its fast I'll post all the picc.

As is with the 400 Racine, did you use the water manifold and the exhaust manifold to align the heads before torqueing ? CM

jon ,MAYBE I Am Confused ???,am i to understand you used jb weld on the lower cylinder walls where the pistton skirt contacts ?,,honed it smooth.?? and you made same repair on a 930 and that repair has given 20 yrs of good service ,,. all i can say is ..WOW,.. also ,,. i have a Freeman ??loader like yours ,.on a 511 b ,.i am thinking a loader on my DC mite be in the future,. mite swap the loader from the 511 over to the DC
