My 870 went the same way. Never had any trouble with hydraulics. Would lift the mower conditioner with no problems, and that takes 1800 PSI. Turned the engine off after running for 2 hours, and when I started the engine, no hydraulics. I pulled the pump apart and it was shot. Pump was so bad that it would not prime up. Either the O-ring on your suction line is bad, or your pump is bad.
