What tool removes the valve plunger retaining plug #8. I removed the retaining plug and spring now I need to remove the by pass valve plunger. Thanks Dick

Dick, I use a wooden dowel that goes in tight and then turn and pull. The other way is to use a screwdriver that has a wide blade that goes in tight and do the same as with the dowel. They can be a little stubborn sometimes. Be careful not to drop it inside and don't lose the little parts inside.

Arlen. I removed # 9-10 and 11. #5 is the by pass valve plunger, it looks like there is a threaded plug on top of it, #8 with the orvis washer and
A nylon filter under the washer. Does that by pass valve plunger just pull out. Thanks

#5 should just pull out. A driven in tapered wooden dowel will sometimes work on a slightly sticky one. a 7/16-20 tap with vise grips clamped on will get a pretty tight one out. Last resort is pulling the valve and using a hammer and punch from the other side(had to do this twice, one time it ruined the bypass valve and I had to lap in another one).

#8 is threaded into #5
