I got to use my CBS paint booth yesterday and today Painted the newly fabed front bumper, front fender, and grill guard for the 831C yesterday. Rolled out the 2 post canopy and got that into paint, plus the tailgate on the new wood hauler which the 831 will be pulling this year. I didn't get the roof into Desert Sunset because it is too bulky to handle alone without screwing up the paint job.
I also have a new project to work on. A friend of mine brought this G310G dozer to me to fix up. It caught fire in the woods when he was skidding firewood logs. Melted the radiator and all the wiring.
Alternator, carb, fuel pump ,distributer, starter solenoid, oll bath air cleaner and all dash gauges and ignition switch are junk. Pulled the valve cover today. It got hot enough to burn the paint off the cover, but the gasket is still there, very crunchy though. Not sure about the valve springs. Have to get a battery in it and get the starter operating and then we will see what we have. Engine oil is up to the line on dipstick and doesn't smell really burnt and feels good when you rub it between your fingers. Water pumps spins nicely, and paint not burned off it although the belt and all the paint is burned off the fan blades and pulley.
I have a question on the 6way blade on it There is a plate welded to the blade. To the top it appears to have OHMCO. Below that it has what I think is PEHDORFF MFG., Del Rae Cal. Model is 310, serial # 10110346.
Is this a blade that Case bought and mounted or is it an aftermarket blade. I have never seen one like it on a 310G or a 350.
