Sent a customer a Genuine CASE Dipstick, correct part number for a 400B. He says it will not fit the block opening. His receiver looks quite different than anything we have here. It looks like the hood from the old dipstick is cemented to his receiver. Any help appreciated.

Jon, we had a 400, that's isn't the correct opening. Should be a straight piece, the dipstick should snap fit over it. Not sure what he has, is that weld I see st the bottom ??

I think something is somehow cemented on there. I've looked at 8 different CASE tractors of that size & vintage & they all look the same, have the same dipstick, & do not look like that. The hoods on the dipsticks look like that.

That looks like the receiver for the flexible dipstick. The one for the rigid style has a flat top that is countersunk. I have some here that look like that. Went to take a picture of one but forgot to put the memory card back in the camera. To lazy to make a second trip tonight. The parts book don't show there being 2 different ones but there appears to be. Will try to get a picture tomorrow. Lee

The pic is identical to my 300B utility. Parts book shows the steel insert that press's into the block as part #G45139, and the dipstick, which is very springy or flexible as part #GF37037. My parts book is for 300B-400B tractors post serial #6095009 Catalog # RI A377. My backhoe is a 1959 model...
