Eagle Hitch spike tooth harrow question

I have what I believe is a CE Eagle Hitch spike tooth harrow. I am needing to know what the braces on each end attach to, in pictures 2 and 3. The braces have two metal rods about five foot long hooked together by a short chain in the middle with a chain on one end and an eye bolt on the other. I don't know if they go to the tractor or go across the front of the harrow and hook to something on the other side (I see nothing for them to hook to there) Anyone have a picture or knowledge of where these go? Thanks, Ronald

Congratulations on getting a hard to find implement! I have a one similar one. There is a piece that goes into the cultivator brackets for the chains to hook to. I need
to build them for mine. I will post pics when I get a chance. I have a friend that would be interested in yours if you want to sell it.

Here is a link to an old post of mine that shows where the chains attach. Nick

Nick, Thank You for your reply. You have a vast amount of knowledge about eagle hitch equipment I see. After you said the braces hooked to the tractor on the cultivator brackets I went and looked at the wagon load of parts that I got with the equipment from that farm and look what I found. The harrow did not look like that when I bought it. The owner parked it along one of his fields when he retired years ago and the new tenant did not know it was there. He caught it with something and drug it around for a bit doing it no good. It straighten out better than I thought when I first saw it.
I don't really want to sell it. This is one of the toys that I have that I can actually use. Thanks again for your help. Ronald

Here's a few pics of mine. It is a little different but still a 3 gang like yours. I have the rods but am going to have to make the brackets that go into the cultivator holes.

You are welcome,
Glad you saved the harrow, it's a nice piece. Please post pics of it in use. My eagle hitch spike tooth harrow came from just east of Kansas City, MO. Nick

Thanks to you Nick, the pieces of the puzzle have come together. I did not know what those arms were for until you told me. Thanks also for the pictures of all your equipment and your harrow. Ronald

Ronald,
Can you get me the measurements for the brackets/ears that hold the chain? I need to make them. Thanks Nick

Nick, the main tube is 2 and 1/2 by 2 and 1/2 with a 1/4 inch wall. The strap is 2" wide by 3/8. It is 5 and 1/2 inches long. The slot is 3 and 1/2 inches long and is 7/16 wide.
It looks like they cut the slot then bent it up. If you have any more questions or need anything else, just let me know. Ronald
