930 pto troubles

Have a 930 Case Comfort Kind Draft O Matic. Caught mower on left rear tire lug and lifted high enough that it hit the fender. Now the arms don't work properly. Was suggested to check the donkey dong? Can anyone help me through this. Was told I would need to remove rear pto housing. Thanks.

Could be the con rod did fall out of position, I can not remember if you can see it through the Pto adjustment cavity. If it was out of position you would have to remove the Pto housing any way.

Thank you for your reply. Is the pto housing where the pto shaft is?

looking back I see that is a dumb question. I was meaning that to remove the plate around the pto shaft and not the cover directly under the tank. I have already removed the one under the tank and all looked well.

If you took the cover off the right side where you adjust the pto and the connecting link is in place then I suspect that something got messed up in the draftomatic controls on top of the rockshaft housing. There is a link in there that provides feed back on the position of the lift arms to the rest of the draft controls. It's possible that maybe it got broken when the lift arms went too far up. There is also a spring on top on the transmission that is hooked to the end of the draftomatic valve. It's possible that this spring may have broke or fell off.

Keep us posted and good luck!!!

hanks for the reply. I need to get myself a repair manual or schematics so I have a better idea of what's there. Will take the cover off the right side and check it out . Thamks! Fred.

30 years ago I was planting corn with a 930 and mounted planter. Something happened that the planter was pushed higher than the up position. I ended up removing the fuel tank, and the plate under the tank, and found a link in the draft control linkage had dropped over center sending the signal to the D-O-M valve that it was in the full up position and would not lift. Once I flipped the link back to the proper position everything worked properly again, and still does to this day. It has been so long that I do not remember any more details to help you at this time. How is it acting? I do not think the Donkey Dong can fall out of the piston bore, and the piston is shaped so the Dong is self centering. Good Luck DK

i have checked the linkage under the tank and it appears to be ok. I know what u mean by going over center as I manually made that happen while playing around with that linkage. There is a rod in there that is about a foot long that has a curved end to it. At first I thought it was bent but decided it was suppose to be that way?? Don't know how to describe it. It is on a slide that fits on the shaft that moves the arms up and down. The arms seem to not want to stay up and are hard to control raise or lower.
